Gaillard T. Dotterer, III (Gilly) was born and raised in the Charleston area. He attended the University of South Carolina, receiving a bachelor’s degree in finance from the Darla Moore School of Business and a JD from the School of Law. In law school, Gilly was a member of the ABA Real Property, Trust & Estate Journal. Gilly began his legal career serving as law clerk to the Honorable Doyet A. Early, III Circuit Court Judge for South Carolina’s Second Judicial Circuit. Prior to joining Bybee & Tibbals, Gilly spent over five years practicing in the professional liability group of a local insurance defense firm where he primarily represented healthcare professionals, skilled nursing facilities, and real estate agents faced with professional negligence claims.

Gilly is results-driven and focuses his efforts towards achieving the best possible outcome for his clients based on their specific needs. He understands that civil litigation can at times be highly complex and appreciates the wide range of potential challenges a civil litigant could face throughout the life of a case.

Gilly’s practice focuses on all areas of real estate litigation, including boundary line and easement disputes, commercial lease disputes, and eminent domain and condemnation.
